Board Members

Central Alberta CFSA is governed by a 10 member board comprised of individuals from throughout the region who bring a variety of perspectives and experiences with children, youth and families to the committee.  The following listing represents the Board members as of May 4, 2009:

Co-Chairs

  • Ron Gaida, a retired school principal, resides in Hanna. Ron has four adult children and one grand-daughter.  He enjoys working with people, travel, cooking and golf. 
  • Sara Potts, Aboriginal Co-Chair, of Hobbema, is a member and employee of the Samson Cree Nation.  Sara is very family oriented and an advocate of wellness and investing in youth.

Board Members

  • Alice Berger resides with her husband on a farm in the Drayton Valley area.  They have three grown children and Alice is very involved in the lives of her grandchildren.
  • Elizabeth Hoppins resides on a family farm at Huxley, and is a mother to three young children. Elizabeth is actively involved in the communities of Trochu and Huxley with various work experiences that are strongly tied to the community.
  • Jack Ramsden and his wife Elsie live in Three Hills where Jack has been employed as the Town Manager since 1990.  Jack and Elsie met and married while studying social work at Red Deer College.  They have six children, one still in high school, and their life revolves around family.  Jack looks forward to making a meaningful contribution to children and families through his service on the board.
  • Denise Mountour of Chippewa-Cree ancestry, was born and raised in the Samson Cree Nation community of Maskwacis (Hobbema).  She is a proud single mother to three children.  Denise has a Bachelor of Indian Social Work and Bachelor Arts with a major in Native Studies.  Her life and career revolves around commitment to social change for First Nations people.
  • Lori McCrea resides in the County of Lacombe, where she is raising two children and is self employed.  Lori has a Business Administration Degree with emphasis on finance and accounting and has worked for a service provider dealing with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Jason Sansregret is married with three children and lives on a ranch at Consort.  He is involved in the community, coaching hockey and working with the Lions Club.
  • Terri Sperle  lives on an acreage near Carstairs with her husband and two small boys. She is self employed as a Realtor and is very involved with her community.  She worked for several years as Executive Director for a children's charity in Manitoba before moving to Alberta.
  • Brad Wilson is a Family School Liaison Worker with Chinook's Edge School Division and lives in the County of Lacombe.  He brings his school experiences to the Board and is committed to improving outcomes for children and families.
