Kinship Care

Kinship care placements assist children who need a home that is nurturing and safe.  Kinship care supports children in the care of Alberta Human Services to live with a relative or person with whom they have a safe and significant relationship.  A kinship caregiver is often a grandparent, aunt, uncle or family friend but can also be a teacher, coach or neighbour.

Kinship caregivers have access to a variety of services, support and training to assist them in meeting the needs of the children placed in their home.
